About Ash Harmon

Ash Harmon is a fifth-generation native Texan, born in Dallas and raised in Farmersville.  He has called North Texas home since that time and now resides in the Pilot Grove area of Grayson County.

Ash's law enforcement career began at the Eastfield College Criminal Justice Training Center (now Dallas College) in 2002.  During the course of his career, he served in a multitude of roles including administration, police management, patrol, criminal investigation, field training officer, court security, and civil process.  He has been a proud member of the Texas Municipal Police Association since 2003.  

While serving as Sergeant with Collin County Constable's Office, Pct. 1, he was elected as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Collin County Deputies Association, representing the Sheriff's Office, Constables' Offices, District Attorney's Office, and Fire Marshal's Office.

Ash has trained hundreds of law enforcement officers throughout the region and has been called upon to write and review departmental policies.  In 2023 he was brought in to testify as an expert witness in constable procedures during a high-profile criminal trial.  

Ash has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Hurricane Katrina Service Award (2005, Josephine PD), Officer of the Year (2007, West Tawakoni PD), and Supervisor of the Year (2005, Fannin Co. Sheriff's Office).  Currently, Ash is a Patrol Sergeant for the Fannin County Sheriff's Office, a Field Training Officer, and serves as the department's writ specialist.  

Outside of work Ash enjoys camping, hiking, hunting, writing, history, and collecting militaria. He is an avid international traveler, having explored many countries around the world.  Ash attends St. Peter's Episcopal Church in McKinney.

Ash's family has always been his inspiration to want to make the world a slightly better place.  He is the father of Jacob, currently serving in the US Marine Corps; Ashlyn, a homemaker and mother; Mason, a musician and aspiring writer; and Walker, a student.  His grandchildren are Joel, River, and Ada.  

Pastoral Ministry

Faith is the cornerstone of Ash's life.  He answered a call to ministry and received pastoral education from the SMU-Perkins School of Theology.  He served as the Senior Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Celeste and Kingston United Methodist Church in Hunt County, and St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Mesquite until 2024.  In 2020 he published his book, Fingerprinting Faith: 52 Faith Lessons from an American Cop.

Businessman

In addition to law enforcement and ministry, Ash is the owner and general manager of a North Texas-based business which provides legal support services to landlords and property management companies in the Greater Dallas-Fort Worth area.
